California Native Plant Foods Celebration and Symposium

Save the Date: California Native Plant Foods Celebration and Symposium is on February 10, 2026
Project description:

This symposium models a new paradigm for sustainability education through California Native plant foods: bringing together diverse voices across generations, disciplines, and ways of knowing as equal contributors. We demonstrate that sustainability requires everyone's expertise—recognizing that knowledge holders embody multiple roles as teachers, scientists, practitioners, and cultural keepers working together across traditional and academic boundaries. By centering plants as teachers in a reciprocal relationship, we address degradation's root cause: broken relationships with the land and each other. This gathering cultivates new pathways, strengthening partnerships that together envision regenerative futures.
