Project description:

This project adds an electric Gator Turf Utility Vehicle to the Arboretum’s vehicle fleet, as an initial transition to a fleet that is not powered by fossil fuels. All 130 students in the UC Davis Arboretum Learning by Leading Program (LBL) have access to the e-Gator for use on UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden projects. The LBL program recruits interns to design and lead environmental education programs for the public and implement sustainability projects throughout the UC Davis campus. Therefore, the electric gator is an integral part of implementing the programs and projects of all the 13 LBL programs by transporting necessary materials and tools while demonstrating UC Davis’s commitment to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
