Project description:

In January-April 2027, Mycelium: The Living Material will show at the UCD Design Museum. Curated and planned by three Design seniors as their exhibition/museum studies capstone, it will be seen by hundreds of students and the public. Mycelium-based design is one of the newest sustainable, circular materials for architecture, furniture, product, lighting and fashion design, as it grows upon agricultural waste and can take the form of leather, foams or hard solids. TGIF funding aids the planning and realization of this exhibition through supporting the work of these student curators, including growing all signage with mycelium during Summer/Fall 2026.
