The project involves recruiting retailers to sell and refill the cylinders in Davis, hosting an exchange event to collect used disposable tanks for FREE refillables, and educating the UC Davis community on how prevent disposable cylinders from entering the waste stream, as they are considered Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). The outcomes of this project helps UC Davis and the state of California reach their waste diversion goals by 2020, educate people on reusable products available on the market, and establish a long-term infrastructure/service for refillable cylinders.
