Registration is now open for the Student Symposium on Food Justice (SSonFJ)!

 

We are excited to announce that registration for the first Student Symposium on Food Justice (SSonFJ) at UC Davis is now open. The symposium will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9am to 5:30pm in the RMI Sensory Building. Registration will stay open until all available spots are filled. Registration is free and first come, first served.

The SSonFJ will unite students who are dedicated to food that nourishes both people and the planet. At the Symposium, students, faculty, and staff will educate each other and work collaboratively to advance justice in our food system.

Who Should Attend:

This Symposium is meant for students actively engaged in food justice work or those aspiring to get involved. 

Our Goals 

  1. Create a space that can connect and elevate the work of UC Davis affiliated groups (students, staff, etc…) actively engaged in food justice work. 

  2. Explore different ways food justice can manifest by having a diverse group of organizers. Ex: activism, academic

  3. Facilitate collaboration on food action at UC Davis among students.  

    1. Our scope of impact is the UCD campus. 

    2. Actionable items is a goal of the symposium. 

  4. Prioritize student (graduate and undergrad) involvement in organizing and attending the conference. 

    1. The majority of sessions will be led by students (undergraduate and graduate)
