Project description:

Aggie Trading is an environmental club on campus who host up to eight trading posts (sustainable clothing swaps) per academic year. Trading posts promote not only sustainable fashion practices, but also a circular economy as participants are encouraged to bring one piece of clothing in return for three other "new" pieces. This project helps better establish a community that is more environmentally friendly conscious and connected through the upcycling of clothing, and educates the Davis community of the environmental impacts associated with fast fashion. TGIF is funding the purchase of infrastructure (bins, racks, signage, etc.) to help organize and grow the clothing swap events. With every sustainable clothing swap, Aggie Trading allows for lower chemical and raw material usage while increasing the education and empowerment of sustainable education on campus and beyond. Check out their website for schedule of events, and more general information!
