Project description:

Bolivia Sanitation

The UC Davis chapter of Engineers Without Borders has made a 5-year commitment aiming to eradicate defecation and improve health practices and education throughout the Agrarian community of Parque Colani, located in the Andean mountain range of Bolivia.

This project provides UC Davis students with the opportunity to apply their experience in engineering design and project management in order to raise the community's standard of living by building two-pit compostable latrines with hand washing stations for 10 households within the community. In doing so, the Parque Colani community is provided with the means to dispose their waste in a way that is both environmentally conscious and beneficial to their health.
