Climate-Ready Trees

Main project image

Project description:

Climate change is resulting in losses to UC Davis's beloved mature tree canopy. In order to sustain the environmental and human health benefits of thriving trees shading our campus, the Learning by Leading Urban Tree Stewardship team proposes to engage student interns and the campus community in planting and stewarding 60 new climate-ready trees over the next year. We will select the trees for their suitability to our future climate and monitor their performance to share with the green industry and inform future regional tree recommendations.
