Project description:

Davis Night Market

The mission of Davis Night Market is to reduce food waste and increase food security in Davis while fostering a sense of community through student, university affiliate, and other community volunteering.

This project works with the Food Recovery Network to recover surplus edible food from Davis restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores, and make it available to anyone in need. The project has been able to save over 1,190 pounds of hot food and 1,700 pounds of bakery products, which translates to a saving of 5.73 equivalent tons of CO2 (1.98 kgCO2/pound of food wasted).
