Project description:

The Arboretum Waterway is a vital part of Davis’s local ecosystem, as well as the largest component of our stormwater system. Students in the Waterway Stewardship Learning by Leading Internship designs and installs a floating island of California native plants to take up excess nutrients in the Waterway to prevent algae blooms, provide wildlife habitat, and demonstrate innovative solutions to water quality issues in storm water and recycled water systems.
