Project description:

This project utilizes the 25 acres of the Equestrian Center to improve University sustainability. This is accomplished by various plantings that provide shade and rain interception, decrease soil erosion and water runoff, and improve air quality/ C02 conversion and campus aesthetics insofar as a small scale project can do. The plantings include trees, gardens, and hedge rows designed to attract and provide habitat for native pollinators. The second goal of the project improves the aesthetic appeal of the Equestrian Center and provides more cohesiveness between the facility and the rest of the core UC Davis campus. This project brings attention to climate conscious ways to add greenery to a large space.
