Project description:

The Student Farm Water Wise Agriculture project will provide detailed data on water usage in the Student Farm Market Garden and Greenhouse through use of digital flow meters, and will reduce water needed for transplanting and irrigation at the Student Farm through the use of irrigation timers and specialized transplanting equipment. This project will directly improve water conservation on the Student Farm through greater control of water application, data-informed decision making around irrigation, and increased opportunities for sustainability education with student leaders, interns, and classes, and other groups that work, visit and conduct research at the Student Farm.
