Climate Adaptive Learning Landscape: A living laboratory for sustainable design

In collaboration with one another, students, faculty, and staff in Design, Cinema and Digital Media, Campus Planning, and the Arboretum and Public Garden program, have recently completed their TGIF-funded project, creating a Climate Adaptive Learning Landscape on the Cruess Hall Courtyard!

The project features drought tolerant, climate resilient plantings, a teaching patio, and upcycled furniture fabricated from materials diverted from the campus waste stream. The courtyard serves as a living laboratory for sustainable design student projects and a demonstration site for the campus community and beyond.
